No doubt the amazing firework night-time spectaculars are a big part of the magic at the Disney Parks, that’s why I’m going to share with you the best spots to view Happily Ever After in The Magic Kingdom…
One of the main ways to get a great view of the fireworks at Magic Kingdom is by purchasing the magic kingdom fireworks dessert party, which will grant you access to Tommorowland Terrace Restaurant 60 minutes prior to the begining of the show and give you priority seating in the plaza garden, after the show has finished you will make your way back to the restaurant to enjoy a host of delectable desserts and beverages. However… much to our disappointment the dessert parties are not currently being offered due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
However, fear not because I have a whole host of places to view the magic at night in The Magic Kingdom
One of the best places to view the fireworks in Magic Kingdom is not in Magic Kingdom. Yes that’s right I’m talking about the Contemporary Resort. The very top of the resort houses California Grill, a signature restaurant serving up gourmet food celebrating the produce and local flavours of California. The reason this restaurant is special is because it offers clear views of Seven Seas Lagoon and The Magic Kingdom. This location does offer an official fireworks dining package however this is currently unavailable due to Covid-19. But you can still dine here during the fireworks and enjoy the impeccable views, that’s not all California Grill has to offer in the fireworks viewing department. As long as you eat at the restaurant within that day (including the speciality Sunday brunch) you are able to return to the restaurant when Happily Ever After rolls around, you can return to the restaurant to enjoy viewing the show on the adjoined deck. However if you don’t want a full meal or have eaten elsewhere before arriving, you can head to the California Grill lounge to enjoy drinks and small plates while also enjoying the same view as you would get inside the restaurant.
The next viewing spot may surprise you, as the majority of people choose to view the fireworks in front of the castle, my recommendation is to view them behind the castle from fantasyland. The reason why is because the majority or the fireworks in the show are set off from pyrotechnic launchers on the back of the castle therefore giving you one of the best views of the fireworks within the park.

However you should only consider this option if you do not care for the projections and the fireworks are the highlight of the show for you, then you should definitely view from here as it offers the most immersive fireworks experience. Top Fantasyland viewing locations include the front of Be Our Guest restaurant, Gaston’s Tavern and Storybook Circus.
I’m including another resort on this list because the views are absolutely stunning. Its the Polynesian resort. you can view the fireworks from many places around the resort including the outdoor area of the fan favourite bar Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. This bar
is known for its playful tricks and interactive elements along with amazing theming and great drinks, this is the ultimate drinks spot for a fan of the Jungle Cruise. Another fan favourite dining location here is ‘Ohana restaurant with a menu boasting Polynesian resort staples such as the teriyaki noodles and the classic ‘ohana bread pudding. However due to the phased reopening of Walt Disneyworld ‘Ohana is not currently serving up its fan favourite foods. But if when you are reading this the restaurant has opened, the only way to see the fireworks from this location is to ask at the front of the restaurant to be seated at a fireworks view table, and cast members will try their best to seat you at your desired table.
I hope this helps you consider some viewing locations with less crowds and a different atmosphere to viewing in the Magic Kingdom hut.
